Day 1 - Transfer from Launceston, trek to Wild Dog Creek base camp

We begin our adventure with an early morning pickup in Launceston before heading to the Walls of Jerusalem National Park. After a steady uphill walk with full packs and rest stops, we reach the scenic plateau and continue through alpine lakes and tarns to our base camp beneath the stunning King Davids Peak. Here, we settle in and soak up the serenity of Tasmania’s highland wilderness.

*You will need to arrive in Launceston the day before your trip, ensuring that you arrive in time to attend the 1:00pm pre-trip briefing.

Day 2 - Explore Walls of Jerusalem National Park

Today we explore the heart of the Walls of Jerusalem with light daypacks, passing Lake Salome and the striking Gate of Damascus before reaching the historic Dixons Kingdom. After a break beneath ancient pencil pines, we ascend Mt Jerusalem for breathtaking views across Tasmania’s central highlands. We return to camp through one of two scenic routes, each offering stunning alpine landscapes.

Day 3 - Explore Walls of Jerusalem National Park

After breakfast at our scenic alpine camp, we spend the day exploring more of this pristine wilderness with just our daypacks. Highlights include climbing Solomons Throne for panoramic views, wandering past glacial tarns and forests, and the option to summit peaks like The Temple or King Davids Peak. We finish the day soaking in the serenity of the Tasmanian highlands at our final night’s camp.

Day 4 - Trek from Wild Dog Creek base camp, transfer to Launceston

Being our final day, we make the most of our morning by taking the time to kick back and savour this remarkable part of the Tasmanian World Heritage Area. A leisurely return journey across the plateau before beginning the descent through scented eucalyptus forests before meeting up with our transport back at the Trappers car park. A relaxing afternoon lunch is enjoyed in the nearby town of Mole Creek as we journey back to Launceston arriving at approximately 5.00pm.
