Continue on to Cradle Mountain and check in to your hotel in the early afternoon. Day 2 - Explore Cradle Mountain

Today, immerse yourself in the stunning landscapes of Cradle Mountain with a full day to explore at your own pace. Enjoy a variety of self-guided walks that showcase the breathtaking beauty of Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park, giving you the freedom to discover this incredible region in your own way. This evening, join the After Dark Feeding Tour at Devils@Cradle for a unique opportunity to observe Tasmanian devils and learn more about the sanctuary’s important conservation efforts.

Day 3 - Drive from Cradle Mountain to Smithton

Depart Cradle Mountain and journey towards Tasmania’s far north-west, beginning with a visit to the spectacular Leven Canyon, where breathtaking views of towering cliffs and the Leven River await. Continue through the scenic region with the option to stop at Leven Valley Vineyard for a tasting of cool-climate wines in a peaceful countryside setting. Along the way, explore Rocky Cape National Park, known for its rugged coastal beauty, walking tracks, and ancient caves rich in Aboriginal heritage. Before arriving in Smithton, take time to visit Stanley, a charming historic fishing village, where you may choose to walk up The Nut or take the chairlift for sweeping coastal views. Continue to Smithton and settle in for a two-night stay.

Day 4 - Explore the Tarkine

Day 5 - Drive from Smithton to Launceston

Today, journey back to Launceston at your own pace, with plenty of opportunities to stop and explore along the way. Suggested stops include Table Cape, the Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden, and the charming coastal town of Penguin. You may also wish to enjoy optional tastings and local produce experiences at Hellyers Road Distillery, Spreyton Cider Co., Anvers Chocolate Factory, Ashgrove Cheese, and Van Diemen’s Ice Creamery before continuing on to Launceston.

Day 6 - Depart from Launceston
