Cradle Mountain: Hobart to Cradle Active Day Trip
This experience provides an efficient and comfortable way to access one of Tasmania’s most remote national parks in a single day. Designed for travellers who want to explore Cradle Mountain without changing accommodation, the tour offers a full day outdoors with extended time inside the park.
The journey begins early, travelling through rural Tasmania at sunrise before stopping for breakfast along the way. Upon arrival, travellers have several hours to explore independently, with options ranging from the Dove Lake Circuit to more challenging walks toward higher viewpoints, depending on personal fitness and conditions on the day.
Inside the park, trails pass through alpine scenery, rainforest, boardwalks and river systems. Travellers can also spend time in the Enchanted Forest or take shorter paths suited to a gentler pace. After time on the trails, the group returns via a country town for an evening meal before heading back to the city.
This is a long but rewarding day suited to active travellers, photographers and anyone wishing to experience the wilderness values of this UNESCO-listed region. Comfort features on board and a small-group format help maintain a relaxed pace throughout the long travel day.
