Bike Hire + Shuttle + Ride: Mt Wellington The Springs To Cascade Brewery
Take on one of Hobart’s most rewarding mountain bike experiences — a self-guided intermediate level descent from The Springs on kunanyi / Mt Wellington down to the historic Cascade Brewery. This 11 km adventure combines flowing downhill trails, technical sections, and scenic fire-trail connectors through the mountain’s temperate rainforest.
You’ll start your journey with a convenient shuttle from South Hobart to The Springs, 720 m above sea level. From there, follow clearly signed trails through alpine forests and eucalypt groves before emerging behind the Cascade Brewery — a perfect finish for a well-earned drink or meal.
Riders can opt to extend the experience with a summit shuttle add-on, adding a thrilling 6 km descent from 1,270 m and spectacular 360° views of Hobart and the Derwent Valley.
This experience is ideal for intermediate riders seeking a flexible self-guided ride with high-quality bikes, clear trail signage, and freedom to explore Mt Wellington at your own pace.
