3 Day – South East Tasmania – Freycinet and Tasman Peninsula

Over 3 days experience the amazing variety of Tasmania's scenic, sunny east coast. Visit iconic Freycinet National Park and Tasman Peninsula. Enjoy the evening around the campfire before retiring to our comfy canvas tents for the night

This tour starts in Launceston and finishes in Hobart or Launceston.
3 Days (2 nights in private camps)

Each day we participate in walks from 3 – 5 hours and travel by mini van or four-wheel-drive. We have exciting private camps, make delicious meals and dine by the campfire. The roomy tents are large enough to stand in and are located in a range of environments to allow us to appreciate Tasmania’s unique wildlife. Toilet and showers facilities for the first night. Toilets only for last night

Day 1 (L, D) Launceston to Freycinet peninsula   –    Private Safari Camp
We will drive down the scenic east coast on dazzling turquoise waters and white sands exploring as we go. At Freycinet, we will have many options for walks, including the famous Wineglass Bay look out as well as the many secluded beaches hidden among the granite coast We camp with stunning bay views over Great Oyster Bay

Day 2 (B,L,D) Freycinet peninsula to Tasman peninsula   –    Safari Camp
With an early start, we will enjoy the scenic drive down the East Coast and make our way to the Tasman Peninsula, home to towering sea cliffs, secluded bays and an abundant sea life. A walk to one of the many stunning capes in the region before our last camp at Eagle Hawk Neck


DAY 3 (B,L) Tasman Peninsula to Hobart / Launceston (Concludes approx 4.30pm Hobart and approx 7.30pm Launceston)
For the nature lovers we have partnered with local operators to offer an optional sea cruise with a difference. The small group tour will showcase the dramatic sea scape of the peninsula and the marine inhabitants. If the conditions are right you can get into your dry suit and see up close to the local seal colony on from the safety of a floating platform

For those without sea legs, an alternate option is the Mt Brown / Remarkable cave walks that shows us up close the amazing geology of the area and a stunning vista over Maningon Bay.

After the morning activities, we check out some impressive geology of local attractions before we make our way back to Hobart. There is an option to return to Launceston arriving approx 7:30pm

If you want to stay an extra day in Tasman Peninsula / Port Arthur area at your own expense we may be able to assist with transport and this can be decided during the trip

What to expect
This is a small group guided 5 Day active camping and walking tour exploring the hills and fantastic beaches on the East coast of Tasmania. We encourage participation in duties around the camp like cooking and clean up from meals
Accommodation in large canvas tents with room to stand up in, they are 4 person tents but we only sleep 2 per tent for comfort. If family groups wish to have younger children in the same tent with them there is a discount available

We are usually up between 6.30 and 7.00 for breakfast. Walks will start at 8 am depending on travel time to a from the start of the track. Lunch is usually a healthy mix of meats, salads and bread or wraps. We may stop to eat on the trail or at the vehicle on a stop along the way
Dinners – 2 course – will be in camp between 7 and 8 pm and will be wholesome mix of meal styles (we do more than just BBQ meat) Most dietary needs can be catered for with notice
