Tynwald – Willow Bend Estate
Stay in a stunning 1830s mansion for either bed-and-breakfast or self catering accommodation, less than half an hour’s drive from Hobart, where you can go for walks by the riverside, try a spot of fishing or borrow one of the hotel bikes and go cycling in this most beautiful part of Derwent Valley.
The suites here vary in size, some with a double bed and some with a double and a twin (the latter sleeps up to three), and two of the rooms come with a spa. You are in a well known hub of antique and curio shops here in the antiques capital of Tasmania, so that is one of the most obvious local attractions to look into. Others include rafting, canoeing, fishing, waterskiing and cycling, with bicycles available from the guesthouse for use at no extra cost. Go a little further from Tynwald and in less than fifteen kilometres you can find Salmon Ponds Heritage Hatchery, Stefano Lubiana Wines, and Rosedown Gadens.
