Both bedrooms of The Shackeau have a queen-size bed complete with all bedding, while your bathroom includes a bath, a shower, a supply of soap and shampoo and towels for each guest. An electric cooker with an oven and four hobs, a microwave oven, a refrigerator, a kettle and a pod coffee maker can be found in the kitchenette, while the living area has a lovely solid-fuel fireplace plus plenty of sofa and armchair space for crashing out.
While The Shackeau does not include a television or internet, and most mobile-phone signals are out of range, it is ideal for everyone who wants an escape from such distractions. You have an assortment of board games to enjoy, an amazing outdoor jacuzzi, and the views are simply amazing. This is a place where you can fish from the extensive deck area or enjoy a fine meal or drink indoors at the dining table with seating for six, in the comfortable lounge or al fresco. A Webber barbecue set is the icing on the cake.
This smoke-free and pet-free holiday house is suitable for children, and is perfect for anyone who wants to escape the city – there is a charming, rustic fishing village nearby and definitely not a skyscraper in sight. Without leaving The Shackeau you can catch a glimpse of a dolphin or even a stingray as it swims past the property’s picnic area, and if you want to wander further afield there are numerous walking routes. You can find the Ida Bay Railway, a narrow-gauge trip that is popular with young and not-so-young alike, the unbelievable treetop views of the Tahune Airwalk and Lune River Thermal Pools, to name just a handful of places the nearby World Heritage Area has to offer.
