The Lodge on Elizabeth
Elegant accommodation with warm, hospitable hosts, all rooms have an en-suite bathroom and some even have four-poster beds, the Central Business District is just a short walk away and so are over twenty of North Hobart’s restaurants.
Beds range from queen-size and double to additional sofa beds, all with top-quality bedding, and your room includes a flat-screen television, a DVD player and an electric blanket. There are ground-floor rooms among the many available, as well as spa suites and a self-contained cottage for two in the grounds of the main building.
Guests staying at The Lodge on Elizabeth are welcome to use the free WiFi network as well as a guest computer. Parking is also free and there are laundry facilities, tea and coffee-making equipment in the separate Lounge Room (along with port and a cosy fireplace), the free loan of beach towels and, should you be interested in the many activities Hobart
has to offer, a tour desk at this AAA four-star rated hotel, which is fully accredited by the Tourist Council of Tasmania.
You will also find a number of antiques around the Lodge – this being Tasmania, the antique capital of Australia, and when you are in the mood for your favourite tipple, the premises are also fully licensed, with a good selection of Tasmanian wines, beers and ciders. Breakfast is served in the Breakfast Lounge, where a range of breads, muffins, crumpets, juices, teas, coffees and cereals are served from 7:30 to 9:30 each morning, included in the price of your stay. Your flexible hosts are able to make adjustments based on special diets if you let them know in advance of your stay.
A little more information on the cottage would be worth adding at this point. Guests are welcome to make use of the same shared facilities as everyone else at the lodge, and they additionally have their own continental-breakfast provisions if you prefer to keep yourselves to yourselves instead. There are also hand-made chocolates, complimentary port, a fruit basket, some fresh flowers to make you feel at home, tea, a coffee plunger and a bottle of wine. You have a spa bath, kitchen facilities such as an oven and stove top, microwave, fridge and the heated property naturally includes a television and DVD player in the lounge, or you could make use of the furnished balcony overlooking the garden.
While The Lodge on Elizabeth is not right in the centre of Hobart, it only takes about fifteen minutes to reach the famous MONA, Museum of Old and New Art by car, while a twenty-minute stroll takes you to the equally well-known Salamanca Market. You are also not far from the pretty buildings in the maritime port of Battery Point, and Hobart’s number-one dining and entertainment centre is a fifteen-minute drive away at Wrest Point Casino.
Located in North Hobart, this lodge is within 1 mi (2 km) of Royal Hobart Hospital, Franklin Wharf, and Salamanca Market. Wrest Point Casino and Cascade Brewery are also within 3 mi (5 km).
This lodge features coffee/tea in a common area, laundry facilities, and a computer station. Free WiFi in public areas and free self parking are also provided. Other amenities include a library, express check-out, and tour/ticket assistance.
Wonderful, Will be spreading the word to all we know to come & spend some time here. Thanks for the hospitality & making us feel so welcome.
It's like coming home. We'll always remember you and your Lodge. Thanks for your kindness, it's a pity we could only stay 2 nights.
Thank you for a most relaxing & warm time in your guest house. Our stay was great. Many thanks.
