Silver Ridge Retreat
Whether you are looking for an active holiday, trekking or quad-biking, or in need of a break from it all in the beautiful region of Cradle Mountain, the self-contained units and additional shared facilities such as laundry and indoor swimming pool have your holiday covered, with knowledgeable and friendly staff on hand whenever you need them.
Standard Cottages have a double bed, with three extra singles in the two-bedroom variations. Not only do you have a bathroom and a kitchen with equipment such as a four-hob stove, a refrigerator, a microwave and plenty of crockery, utensils and cookware, but you also have pleasant, wood-burning heaters, a great deal of space and access to a guest laundry. A breakfast counter separates the lounge area from the kitchen, with a dining table, sofa, coffee table and set of bookshelves furnishing the wood-panelled room.
The same facilities can be found in the Superior Cottage at Silver Ridge Retreat, or you could choose the Spa Cottage, with a jetted tub and a slightly different kitchen arrangement (it’s more sort-of L-shaped and has two hobs in place of the four). Upstairs above the reception area is the Spa Suite, a studio apartment with more limited kitchen facilities but an amazing view of the dam and featuring its own little breakfast nook.
Back on the ground floor is the fully wheelchair-accessible Disabled Unit, complete with full kitchen, wide doors, handles in the bathroom as well as plenty of other aids for those with mobility issues, and the solid-fuel stove in the huge living room looks ever so slightly like an early steam locomotive!
Silver Ridge Retreat has an indoor swimming pool, a playground for children, free parking, free wireless internet and all accommodation options have a television with a DVD player, although when you see just how beautiful the surrounding countryside is, in the heart of the Cradle Mountain and Lakes District, watching the box is probably going to be one of the last things you will be thinking of. There are also barbecue facilities and a picnic area for a good outdoor grill, and if you are in need of any assistance with booking tickets for tours or other attractions in the area, then the staff are on hand to help.
On the subject of nearby things to do, you are only about twenty minutes’ drive from the labyrinthine world of Tasmazia, while those with a sweet tooth can reach Melita Honey Farm in about forty minutes. A two-hour quad bike tour is organised in partnership with a local firm, a great many walking trips are possible in this corner of paradise, including the Mount Roland Summit Track, while the Town Of Murals, Sheffield, is only about ten minutes away by car.
Situated in the mountains, this farm stay is 2 mi (3.3 km) from Mount Roland Conservation Area and within 9 mi (15 km) of Tasmanian Visitor Information Centre and Tasmanian Regional Arts Kentish,The Working Art Space and Gallery. Lake Barrington Nature Recreation Area and Tasmazia are also within 12 mi (20 km).
An indoor pool, conference space, and laundry facilities are available at this smoke-free farm stay. Free WiFi in public areas and free self parking are also provided. Additionally, tour/ticket assistance, a garden, and barbecue grills are onsite.
Housekeeping is available once per stay.
Great Family Stay. Cosy,spacious cottages in a scenic location with lots of opportunities for activities like short or long hikes, nightly wild life tours and/or just chill. Great starting point to see the Cradle Mountain. Host was very hospitable and knowledgeable.
Second Visit and will be back again. This was our second visit one year on from our first. We bought our in laws and 2.5 year old son who loved it even more than the first time. It is a stunning place and perfect to relax and enjoy nature and the surrounding area. There was 5 of us and we comfortably fitted into the cabin. I loved that our son could just pop outside and have a play.
Fantastic getaway in a great location. Great time at Silver Ridge Retreat, so much to do and see on the property. The night-time nature walk was definitely a highlight. We saw Wallabies, possums and even the elusive platypus all on the property! Very close to Cradle Mountain. Can't recommend this place enough! We will be back.
