The peace and quiet is a strong point here, in a pretty rural setting by the riverside, and the self-contained apartments are suited to self-catering or bed-and-breakfast purposes, so whether you are stopping over or staying longer this is a good choice.
Each apartment has a queen bed, and some of the larger ones also have twin and double-sofa beds, bringing the number of people who can sleep from two to six in this pet-free, non-smoking retreat. You are in fact taken to your room by a member of staff when you check in, so that’s a nice touch. Apartments have premium-quality bedding and all linens are provided for you. There is free internet which you can access via the wireless network, and all apartments at Platypus Park Country Retreat have kitchen facilities that include a microwave oven, a fridge and numerous items of cookware, utensils, plates and other items. Towels, toiletries and a hair dryer come with the en-suite bathroom.
A television and pool table are here for the guests’ use, as are laundry facilities, housekeeping on request, and Platypus Park Country Retreat has a yard and garden with barbecue facilities, free parking and during the eight until eight opening hours of the front desk the staff can provide whatever help you need with booking tours and tickets for local attraction.
Fishing is a popular activity in the river next door, and the ocean is just a short walk away. In addition, Blue Derby Trails offer fantastic mountain biking and that is just forty minutes by car. Bridport Golf Club, Barnbougle Dunes and Pipers Brook Vineyard are even closer.
Situated by the ocean, this aparthotel is within 3 mi (5 km) of Goftons Beach, Eastmans Beach, and Croquet Lawn Beach. Mattingleys Beach and Bridport Golf Club are also within 3 mi (5 km).
