Otago Cottage
Enjoy a waterfront cottage with three bedrooms, full kitchen, laundry, spa bath and barbecue equipment only a quarter of an hour from Hobart’s business district and less than half an hour from HBA Hobart International Airport.
Upstairs on either side of the lounge are the bedrooms, one of which is reached by going through another one, two with queen-size beds and another with a pair of singles, all with linens and other bedding that includes electric blankets. The downstairs bathroom, in the corner of the lounge and kitchen area, has both a shower and a deep spa bath, a toilet, a washbasin and a hair dryer.
Otago Cottage is an excellent choice if you are self catering, as there is an oven, a stove top, a microwave, a refrigerator, a dishwasher and equipment for tea and coffee, on top of storage and food-preparation space. You have a wooden six-seater dining table, a barbecue set and provisions for a good hearty breakfast to get your day off to a cracking start.
While you are staying here, there is a flat-screen television with a VCR, a stereo CD system, a clock radio and a collection of books for your entertainment, while practical matters are taken care of in the form of parking space, a washing machine, clothes dryer, iron, ironing board, air conditioning and heating. Otago Cottage incorporates a flight of stairs between the two floors and, while it is not a property for smokers, it most definitely is a child-friendly place to stay. In fact, a cot may be provided if you have a particularly young guest with you.
This is a fine place to watch the River Derwent as it flows past, or you can head into Hobart where the CBD (Central Business District) is just fifteen minutes away, which of course means that other attractions such as Salamanca Market, the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens and the fabulous MONA are just as easy to get to. Head further to the east and there’s Mount Direction Conservation Area.
Located in Otago, this cottage is 1.3 mi (2.1 km) from Meehan Range Nature Recreation Area and 2.5 mi (4 km) from Risdon Cove Indigenous Protected Area. Tasmanian Transport Museum and MyState Bank Arena are also within 6 mi (10 km).
