No. 6 – Your Home Away From Home
No. 6 has five bedrooms, two living areas, two bathrooms and can sleep up to eleven, in a quiet cul-de-sac in Devonport, with a big garden, a full kitchen, heating, air conditioning and parking for three cars. It’s certainly no bedsit!
Queen-size and single beds, with bedding, in rooms with bedside tables, reading lights in some cases, plus a couple of bathrooms with one containing an actual bath mean you have a fine level of comfort even if you go for the full eleven-strong capacity of this bright, spacious holiday home. Two kitchens include oven, stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, toaster, coffee-making and tea-making tools (there’s a pod coffee machine no less), and various items of cutlery and cookware. Free wireless internet, smart TVs with Foxtel, enough lounge area for everyone to spread out and relax, and a barbecue set are on hand at No. 6, while outside there is a large, fenced back garden so the children can let of steam in safety. A high chair is available for the very young, and the property owners have left a supply of toys and games so the kids have something to occupy themselves if they ever get bored of the kitchen’s milkshake maker.
Only three minutes’ drive from this non-smoking and pet-free house is a grocer’s, a restaurant, a cafe and a bar, so whether you are self-catering, eating out or relying on takeaways, you are in the right place. Devonport has several beaches, also just a couple of minutes away, and you are just round the corner from Splash, a local aquatic centre which many a parent has spoken highly of. The cruise ships Spirit of Tasmania 1 and 2 dock nearby, while among the excursions you can take on land are various vineyards, breweries, distilleries, chocolate centres, mountain-bike trails and of course the magnificent Cradle Mountain.
