For a more detailed look at the Villas, they have electric blankets on all of the beds except the bunks, wardrobes that are built in to the property, reverse-cycle air conditioning, a bath with a shower, a Bluetooth alarm-clock radio, and the well equipped kitchen includes an oven and a full-size refrigerator, as well as a microwave and an electric kettle. There is a washing machine, a 40-inch television, complete with DVD player, and it is possible to fit a cot into the large living area. There is at least one property with a disabled-access bathroom.

As for the Cabins at Leisure Ville Holiday Centre, beds other than bunks also have electric blankets, the kitchenette includes a mini oven (there is one exception to this) with a pair of hot plates, you have entertainment in the form of a 26-inch television with a DVD player, and there is a shower in the bathroom. There is basic heating, a bar fridge, a dining table and an arm chair. That is the most basic on offer, while you can go up-market a bit and also have reverse-cycle air conditioning, a full-size fridge, a gas oven and gas hobs, a veranda with outdoor seating, a sofa, a separate toilet, a larger television, ramp access and space for a cot.

While this is a pet-free venue, it does not have an absolute blockade on smokers, with designated smoking areas available. Smoke detectors and fire extinguishers are fitted throughout the properties, so obviously you need to refrain from the activity indoors.

As you can imagine from the name, Leisure Ville Holiday Centre is far more than just the accommodation. There is a guest laundry (coin-operated), an enclosed playground complete with slides, swings, monkey bars and a spring rider, a recreation room with arcade games (there is actually an original Pac Man!), pool table and table tennis, a heated indoor swimming pool and a four-person spa, tennis and basketball areas, and three undercover electric barbecues. Bruce’s Cafe is fully licensed and open every day of the week, where you can enjoy breakfast and lunch, a good cup of coffee and also meet the locals with whom it is popular.

You are not far from the ocean, and there are plenty of spectacular coastal walks available in the Wynyard region. Boat Harbour Beach, one of the best in Tasmania, is a mere fifteen minute’s drive away, and you are also not far from Allendale Gardens, Dismal Swamp, the fascinating Fossil Bluff across the river (best seen at low tide), and the whole holiday centre is just five minutes from Burnie BWT Airport.
