Curringa Farm
Stay on a genuine sheep and cropping farm which has deservedly won numerous tourism awards, where guests have no shortage of living space, all the comforts of the best hotels have been laid on, and you can take in the atmosphere of the Tasmanian countryside, with even guided tours led by the very friendly staff.
The Deluxe Cottages give you two bedrooms with one king and two singles, the Spa Cottage has two bedrooms and sleeping arrangements for five, Wedgetail Wings is a large house with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, the Romance Studios have a king bed, Seaglenest comes with a queen-size bed and finally there is the Farmhouse Cottage with four bedrooms, two bathrooms and can sleep eight.
You can relax in front of a warm fireplace, with a private bathroom (featuring a separate bath and shower), a kitchenette with a full-size fridge-freezer as well as tea and coffee-making equipment, watch television (complete with a DVD player) and enjoy the outdoors on the balcony or patio. The management at Curringa Farm have made sure to include an iron and ironing board as well as a hair-dryer, so less for you to pack in your luggage. Air conditioning and laundry facilities complete the picture.
Curringa Farm itself is a non-smokers’ property, and with the exception of guide dogs or similar service animals does not permit pets. Parking is free, as is the wireless internet, and the front desk, where English and Chinese are spoken, is open from eight in the morning until six in the evening. You can also make use of barbecue equipment (one type of smoking no one objects to, but then, who would?).
Naturally you wouldn’t expect a farm to be slap-bang in the middle of a city, so not all of the external attractions are going to be right on the doorstep. However, St. Peter’s Church is less than five kilometres away, and Mount Field National Park is less than twenty. The forty-kilometre trip to Meadowbank Lake or Mount Field National Park are also well worth it.
The farm itself sells items including lanolin hand and face lotion, woollen clothing, native Tasmanian timber crafts, chutney, jam and their Royal Danish Sweetheart Cake, something which has won international acclaim.
Situated in Hamilton, this farm stay is 2.9 mi (4.6 km) from St Peters Church and within 12 mi (20 km) of Mount Field National Park and Pelham West Nature Reserve. Dickinsons Nature Reserve is 12 mi (19.3 km) away.
This smoke-free farm stay features laundry facilities, barbecue grills, and free self parking. WiFi in public areas is free.
All 5 rooms boast fireplaces and offer kitchenettes and balconies or patios. For a bit of entertainment, TVs come with DVD players, and guests will also find refrigerators and hair dryers.
