There is accommodation for groups of all range of budgets, from Villas and Cabins with their own bathrooms to paved and unpaved caravan sites and pitches for tents with or without electrical power, plus a range of shared facilities and all close to the centre of Launceston.
Whether you are booking a Villa or a Cabin, you have a well furnished bed of a queen, double, single or bunk style and a bathroom. There is a shower, a hair dryer and a complimentary supply of toiletries, while your accommodation has the dual comforts of heating and air conditioning, with a ceiling fan to boot.
Villas are called Tamar and City, and include inside and outside seating, a kitchenette with gas hobs, a full-size fridge and a microwave. There is plenty of cupboard space for your food, and a Tamar can sleep a maximum of four while a City, which sports a second toilet, can hold six. Some Tamars are suitable for wheelchair users.
Budget Cabins sleep either four or five, with hotplates, a microwave and a bar fridge making up a kitchenette, and a television in the open-plan seating area.
You may also bring your caravan to Big4 Launceston Holiday Park, where you will have a choice of a Slab or Standard Site, or you can camp in your own tent on either a powered or unpowered site.
The place has gone through something of a revamp lately, with at least twelve buildings ‘retired’ and even more brand spanking news ones built to replace them.
All guests have the use of communal toilet and washing facilities, a camp kitchen, barbecue and picnic area, a children’s play area that includes a jumping mat (close to the Tamar Villas), wonderful staff at the front desk who can help out with ticket purchases and booking tours in the Launceston area and beyond, and that’s just the park itself. The inner-city location of Big4 Launceston Holiday Park means that you don’t have far to trek for the area’s most spectacular attraction – Cataract Gorge. Both Brisbane Street Mall and Centro Meadow Mews Shopping Centre are less than five minutes away by car, and you are also close to Penny Royal Adventures. All this just a ten-minute drive from Launceston LST Airport.
Located in South Launceston, this holiday park is within 2 mi (3 km) of Launceston General Hospital, Launceston College, and Princes Square. Royal Park and Calvary St Vincent’s Hospital are also within 2 mi (3 km).
Laundry facilities, tour/ticket assistance, and barbecue grills are available at this smoke-free holiday park. Self parking is free. Other amenities include a picnic area and a vending machine.
All accommodations are soundproofed and offer ceiling fans and hair dryers. Guests will find kitchens with refrigerators, stovetops, and microwaves. Limited housekeeping is available.
