You can do all your cooking in the well equipped kitchen, with its four-hob cooker, fridge, microwave oven and dishwasher for when everything is done with. The bathroom’s great, as it has plenty of space, IXL heating, and they have included toiletries, lovely soft towels and a hair dryer. There is also a good level of water pressure in the shower, so you won’t be washing under one of those dribbling things from a cheap bedsit.

The spacious living room, which has its own private balcony complete with furnishings, is a good place to unwind after a day exploring Hobart, as it has a gargantuan 62-inch LCD television, with a DVD player (you can also rent DVDs while you are here) and cable channels, which you can watch on the sofa. There is also a coffee table, a desk and lamp, and the place comes with a dining setting.

Bay View Villas also provide guests with an iron and ironing board, off-street secure parking, air-conditioning in all the rooms (reverse-cycle), and if you run short of something, there are a number of vending machines on the premises. A business centre and conference space mean that this is a good choice for visitors here in a work-related capacity, and there are laundry facilities, a games room, a play area for children, barbecue facilities and an indoor pool. It is a no-smoking, no-pets, property, and has a front desk open from eight in the morning to seven at night.

All that central Hobart has on offer is nearby, including the Central Business District which is just minutes away. There is, for example, the famous restaurant strip, Salamanca Market, the fine suburb of Battery Point with its tea shops and antique’s for sale, and Tasmania Day Tours can organise trips from Mount Wellington to Port Arthur Historical Site.
